Honeycomb Tasting

  Honeycomb

I love bees and honey! So, I thought I might as well venture beyond the lengths of honey itself. Which lead me to discover edible honey comb. There are lots of videos and pictures of honeycomb eating on the Internet. So, I tried to research locally sold honeycomb. After days of searching, reading reviews, and looking a pictures, I rested on locally sourced brand. Based on the information on the website (Unpressed, raw and unfiltered says the box) it seemed too good to be true. Of course, I didn't dig deeper. There was no reviews or ratings, which I noticed going into further research after the honeycomb came. It took days of waiting and rising eagerness. When it finally came, I was tempted to tear it right open, but because of the recent events, it was disinfected for what seemed to be hours. It was time to taste. My excitement was through the roof, I had high hopes for it. I popped the lid. The smell was strong as it flooded over. It was a chemical, floral scent. It was unappealing. But, because I had never tasted honeycomb, I ignored the scent. I grabbed a clean butter knife, and cut a small piece out of the corner. I plopped on a small plate. I licked the honey that was on the piece first, and the taste was unique. It was as if it slapped me across the face multiple times. I was not a fan. I drank water, hoping it would wash the flavor down, but it did not. I then grabbed a banana, I cut huge chunks, and put the rest of the cut piece of honeycomb between it. That seemed to do the trick to balance the taste of the honey and the banana. The honeycomb its self left residue all over my mouth, it was as if I took a bite out of a wax candle, and it got stuck in my teeth. All in all, it is an acquired taste, I am not the biggest fan of the taste and texture on its own, but it does taste better when partnered with other foods. I wasn't sure if it was the brand of honey, or does all honeycomb taste like that? I don't think I will know anytime soon because of the events happening.

Stay safe, and wash your hands! Comment whether you have had honey comb or not, if so, explain what it taste like! 👍😀🍯🐝
